Alluc Kodi Addon

Source: Alluc

The Alluc add-on is based on the Alluc website, and it looks and functions exactly like a typical video add-on for Kodi. When you click a show or movie, the Alluc add-on pulls up links to feeds from Alluc.ee and a variety of other sources.

However, the Alluc add-on does have one unique feature that most video add-ons lack: a language button. The language button allows you to search for dubbed versions of shows and movies. If a dubbed stream of your selected title is available, it’ll automatically play when you open the feed.

Until recently, you could install Alluc from Smash’s popular Kodi repository. But now that Smash has removed Alluc, you have to download Alluc from SuperRepo if you want to install it.

As you read through this short guide, you’ll learn:

  • How to download and install Alluc on Kodi
  • How to sign up for a free Alluc account
  • All the main features of the Alluc addon
  • A few alternative ways to access Alluc streams on Kodi

Prerequisites

Before you can use the Alluc add-on, you’ll need to download and install the free, open source media player known as Kodi. Kodi is available on Mac, Windows, Android and many other platforms.

  • Internet connection
  • A Kodi compatible operating system
  • Kodi open source home theater software (download link)

Before we Proceed

We highly recommend using a VPN when using Kodi. Kodi users have been known to receive copyright infringement notices for streaming movies, sports, and TV shows through various addons. If you would like to keep your streaming habits private, our recommendation is IPVanish - a complete privacy solution for Kodi users. It's also worth noting that purchasing a 12 month subscription will give you two months free.

How to install Alluc on Kodi

Alluc is totally free and all you need to get an account is provide an email address. Once you have your Alluc username and password, you can log into the Alluc website and the Alluc Kodi add-on.

Alluc installation overview

To install Alluc for Kodi, the first thing you have to do is download the main Super Repo zip file. The next step involves installing the “SuperRepo Category Video” sub-repository. After you have the sub-repository, you can then install the Alluc add-on.  But in order to log into the add-on, you have to visit the Alluc website and create a free account.

Step-by-step Alluc installation instructions

Here’s a detailed, step-by-step view of everything you need to do to install Alluc for Kodi.

Step 1: Download and install SuperRepo

The SuperRepo repository can be found at http://srp.nu/krypton/repositories/superrepo/.  The file you need is superrepo.kodi.krypton.repositories-0.7.04.zip.

Note: The last few numbers of the file represent the version number.  If a new version of SuperRepo comes out, the numbers will change.

Once you’ve downloaded the Smash installation file, click Add-ons from Kodi’s main menu and then click the box icon.

The box icon

Next, click Install From Zip File and then navigate to wherever you downloaded the Smash zip file and select Open.

Step 2: Install SuperRepo Category Video

Click the box icon, but this time choose Install From Repository.  Then, scroll down and navigate to SuperRepo Repositories → Add-on Repositories → SuperRepo Category Video [Krypton][v7] →  Install.

Step 3: Install Alluc

Click the box icon and choose Install From Repository again.    From there, navigate to SuperRepo Category Video [Krypton][v7] → Video add-ons → Alluc.

Note: There are two different Alluc add-ons in SuperRepo. Be sure to choose the Alluc add-on depicted below. The other Alluc add-on doesn’t work.

This Alluc addon works, but the other one does not.

Alluc walk-through

Because Alluc doesn’t have many features, it’s super easy to use. The settings menu has two modes: basic and advanced. But even in advanced mode, Alluc is very cut-and-dry.

Alluc’s best feature is its internal bookmark system. Several of the most popular video add-ons still don’t have bookmark functionality, but Alluc does. Unfortunately, Alluc’s Trakt feature doesn’t seem to work– that’s probably because Alluc hasn’t been updated in a while. Alluc’s simple “quick search” button is convenient, though. Very few video add-ons allow you to search for TV shows and movies at the same time, but with Alluc you can.

How to get your Alluc username and password

In order to use Alluc, you have to enter in your Alluc username and password. Sign up for free here: http://accounts.alluc.com/.

Saving favorites

One of the best things about Alluc is that it has an internal favorite system. Other video add-ons force you to use a 3rd party tool or don’t give you the option to save favorites at all.

  • To save a favorite on Alluc, just select a title, open up Kodi’s contextual menu and choose Save as Favorite.
Tip: You can activate the contextual menu by using your right mouse button, the “C” key on your keyboard or by pressing the guide button on your Kodi remote. Source: TvAddonsGuide

Activating Trakt

Alluc’s Trakt feature seemed to be broken when we tested it out.  Trakt is a cloud-based platform that helps you kees track of TV shows and movies you watch. It integrates with many different platforms, including some Kodi add-ons.

  • If you want to try activating your Trakt on Alluc, click the red Trakt button on the main menu, then visit http://trakt.tv/activate/authorize and follow the instructions on the screen.
After you activate Trakt in Alluc, a few extra buttons appear– but none of them seem to work. Source: TvAddonsGuide

Searching for movies and TV shows

  • Alluc has a convenient quick search button on the main menu screen. Just click that and type in whatever you want to watch. Quick search brings up both movie and TV show content.

Browsing for movies and TV shows

If you aren’t sure what you want to watch, you can browse TV shows and movies via each of their respective main menu buttons.  Alluc does not give you a long list of genres to choose from when browsing.  Instead, all you get is a pair of buttons: “trending” and “popular.”

Pulling up dubbed shows and movies

Alluc’s language button gives you an easy way to look for dubbed streams. Just click the language button and pick the language you want to hear, and Alluc will pull up dubbed streams if it can find any the next time you look for content.

Allucs language button tells Alluc to look for dubbed streams and streams with hard-coded subtitles.

Activating and deactivating resolvers

Every time you use a video add-on to search for content, resolvers kick into gear. Resolvers are programs inside of Kodi addons that search through various “video locker” websites. Most of Alluc’s resolvers still seem to work pretty well, but others are totally broken– yet another sign that this add-on hasn’t been updated in a while.

  • If you notice that a resolver isn’t doing its job while using Alluc, you can disable it.  Just click the settings button and open URLresolver settings.

If many of the links to movies and TV shows you click while using Alluc and other Kodi add-ons don’t work, your ISP could be to blame. Some ISPs place blocks on video locker sites. For example, if you live in the UK none of your Solar Movie resolvers will ever work without a VPN. You can use a VPN to avoid blocks that your ISP has placed on various sites around the web.

Another way to watch Alluc streams

If you’re not a fan of the Alluc add-on’s interface, you can use your Alluc API key to get Alluc feeds on the popular Exodus fork known as Covenant.

Prerequisites

First, find out how to install Covenant if you don’t already have it. Then, hop back to this article and follow the steps listed below.

Step 1: Get your Alluc API key

To find your API key, just create an Alluc account and log into http://accounts.alluc.com/.

Step 2: Activate Alluc in Covenant

Open Covenant and go into tools.  Then, click providers and make sure that Alluc is activated.

Step 3: Paste in your Alluc API code

Jump to the accounts tab and paste in your Alluc API code.

Entering in the Alluc API key.

Once Covenant is setup for Alluc, you’ll begin to see Alluc streams appear in your list after you click a title.

Alluc review

Alluc is a simple, straightforward video add-on. Aside from a few non-working resolvers and the broken Trakt feature, Alluc works fairly well. Still, Alluc’s popularity may be on the decline. When we searched social media to find out what people were saying about Alluc, we discovered that even though the site itself is still popular, the Kodi add-on for Alluc seems to have fallen out of fashion. Though it is impossible to tell when the last Alluc patch came out, its broken Trakt feature and out-of-date resolver list seems to indicate that it hasn’t been updated in quite a while.

Still, if you like the Alluc website you might like Alluc for Kodi. The Alluc add-on’s interface is basic compared to the Alluc site, but all the content is still there. The Alluc site has more features compared to the add-on, but it also bombards you with ads. The Alluc Kodi add-on doesn’t have any ads at all because Kodi automatically strips the ads out of any content that it imports.

Alluc’s main strength as an add-on is its internal bookmark system. Bookmark systems must be hard to code, because very few Kodi add-ons have a working system for saving favorites. Another nice Alluc feature is the convenient “quick search” button. Several of the most popular video add-ons still don’t have bookmark functionality, but Alluc does.

Pros

  • Internal bookmark system
  • Quick and easy search
  • Simple interface
  • Language button

Cons

  • Trakt is broken
  • No genre menus
  • Many resolvers don’t work

Internal bookmark system

If you watch a lot of shows on Kodi, it can be hard to keep track of what you’re watching. But if you use Alluc, you can save your favorite shows as bookmarks.

Quick and easy search

Sometimes you have to poke around through lots of different menus to find the search feature, but Alluc’s search button is located right on the main menu.

Simple interface

The Alluc addon’s interface is very simple and easy to use. All you have to do is type a keyword or two into the quick search bar.

Language button

If English is your second language, you can use Alluc’s language button to search for dubbed versions of popular movies and shows.

Trakt is broken

Even though Alluc allows you to activate Trakt, it doesn’t let you use it.  Trakt buttons appear after activation, but none of them actually work.

Some resolvers don’t work

The Alluc add-on’s resolvers reach out to hundreds of different video locker sites. However, many of Alluc’s resolvers don’t work. An update could solve this issue.  However, Smash recently pulled Alluc out of his repository. This suggests that the anonymous developer behind the Alluc add-on may have called it quits.

Summary

The Alluc add-on is aging but it’s still pretty decent overall. Still, the popular add-on known as Covenant provides a better way to import Alluc feeds into Kodi. Unlike Alluc, the developers behind Covenant push out regular updates. Updates are crucial for Kodi add-ons, because the sites they use for content change all the time. When a site makes a change, the resolver associated with it breaks– and it stops pulling up working links to video content. Though most of Alluc’s resolvers are still online, more will break unless someone decides to bring Alluc back to life.
